Skillz Bands started as something between La Mamma and her son. Three years later the kitchen table is still the workshop, and every order still arrives as an Instagram DM.

It started in Italy in mid-2023. I was traveling for Speedsoft tournaments, collecting Headbands, and I wanted something different from what the market had. I asked La Mamma if she'd help me try.
She turned an old pair of jeans into the very first Skillz Band. I wore it on the field. Teammates asked where I'd got it. I posted it on Instagram. The first official order shipped from Italy to Denmark a few weeks later, and we never stopped sewing.
It was never meant to be a business. It was a passion project, born at home in Italy.
A two-person operation.
From the very beginning, every band has been handmade by La Mamma Custom. She keeps 100% of the profits. I handle the designs, the drops, the DMs, and the photos from the field.
Cuts, stitches, finishes. Has sewn every single Skillz Band by hand since 2023. The name was coined in 2024 by a friend, Bastian, to honor the true maker behind the brand.

Denim because it's tough enough for a full tournament weekend. Cotton because it breathes and soaks sweat. Every band is cut from real jeans, finished with vinyl prints on the ends, sometimes a graphic on the front. For special drops we also work mixed synthetic blends from premade patterned fabrics — designer-style prints and beyond.
